Schedule automatic plugin & theme updates
Pick a cadence (daily or specific days), a time, and a timezone. Global defaults plus per-site overrides.
Updated
On this page
Scheduled updates (Developer and Agency plans) run your plugin & theme updates on a cadence you choose, without needing to click.
Setting a global schedule
Open Settings → Schedule Updates, pick the days of the week, the hour, and the timezone. Choose whether to update all plugins & themes or a specific whitelist. Save.
Per-site overrides
Open any site and click Schedule Updates. A per-site schedule replaces the global schedule for that site only. Remove the override to revert to inheritance.
Minimum frequency
Once per day. Sub-hour granularity isn't supported — running updates multiple times per day is unnecessary and adds load.
Want to serve a maintenance page during the run?
Scheduled updates don't auto-toggle maintenance mode — WordPress updates are already atomic and visitors almost never notice. If you want a branded holding page during a specific window, open the site in your dashboard and flip Maintenance mode on manually before your scheduled hour; flip it off after. See Enable maintenance mode on a site.
